Our Red Cedar incense comes from a stockpile of old wood, held for years by the monastery that produces it.

Found on the windswept and remote coastal islands to the south eastern seas of Korea, this unique wood was once collected to the point of becoming a threatened species. Now protected, the slow growing Cedar endemic to the island is now strictly regulated and no longer available for harvest.
この特別な木材は、韓国の南東部の海に面した風が吹きすさぶ海岸沿いの島々に生息しており、かつては絶滅危惧種になるまでに採取されていました。島固有種で成長が遅い杉であるため、現在は保護され、伐採も厳しく規制されています。現在は、備蓄してある貴重な赤杉を大切にしながら、製造を続けています。
